“Anybody can make history. Only a great man can write it.” -Oscar Wilde
We are living in a time that will go down in history, and here’s your chance to write your version! Did you document 9-11? I wish I had. The 9-11 Memorial in NYC is one giant scrapbook of headlines, memories, and stories of brave firefighters and citizens who saved lives at the risk of their own. These stories are what bind us together.

“A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.” – Marcus Garvey

Mental Health During Uncertain times
Studies have shown that planning and executing new routines that connect you to what really matters is the best recipe for good mental health.
Look at the bright side: this crisis offers an unexpected chance to check in with you. We’re being forced to slow down and look at what really matters. What brings you meaning when the noise of modern life quiets down? Have your priorities reflected what truly matters to you?
Pull all of your photo albums out to the coffee table or living room. Live sports aren’t available to distract our husbands, they may even pick up an album or two:)
Storytelling is therapeutic
Snap photos of your “new” normal, screen shot the headlines and journal your feelings during these trying times. Your stories of strength will inspire future generations. Make journaling a daily practice, focus on what you’re grateful for. We learn more about who we are when we can be still. Get to know yourself again and tell your story.
Create with Photos
Turn off the T.V. and relive some memories through photos! This is a great time to purge your camera roll and print the photos you want to keep. There are so many FUN ways to archive prints in albums! Our 2019 family album has been opened more this week than I ever imagined.
INCLUDE THE KIDS
I created this set of journaling cards just for you, and the kids too 🙂 Regardless of their age, have them write their feelings, or even their favorite movie and slip it in your family album. Seeing my kids handwriting change over the years is something I will always cherish. Don’t forget to check out 5 home photo projects for kids.
This pandemic will eventually pass, take advantage of this time we’re forced to slow down. You’ll be glad you did!
