Trending Wedding Decor

At Persnickety Prints, we love helping couples plan beautiful, meaningful wedding photo decor. During our free wedding consultations, we help couples with all their wedding printing needs: from selecting their wedding invitation suites, to helping them share their love story through the photo decor for their events. We wanted to share some inspiration for photography and trending wedding decor in case you are helping with any weddings this year.

Go Retro

In the design world, the 70’s are back! A wedding decor trend we love from that decade is thicker white borders; we’ve seen them in wedding invitation designs, photo table top decor, sign in books, and thicker white borders around enlargements. Our retro prints and photo strips cannot be beat with their nostalgic designs, and are perfect table top decor for a personal touch.

Something Blue

Including hints of blue in weddings is a classic choice for a reason – it’s gorgeous! We have seen blue in engagement photoshoots, wedding decor color palettes, and of course in wedding invitation suites. Tonal color schemes are also in vogue, and one of our favorite ways to combine these concepts has been a shades-of-blue invitation suite. As always, our photographic prints are ideal for capturing the nuances of color and is our product recommendation when printing photos for wedding invitation inserts and photo decor.

A Silver Lining

Soft, elegant touches of silver have been trending in wedding decor for this year. We love seeing it in weddings with silver frames and DIY additions like wax seals. Our pearl press print paper adds a subtle silver shimmer to wedding invitation designs that have a lot of white, and is always our suggestion for formal occasions. Another way to implement this look is our metallic paper option on our archival photographic prints. The metallic photo paper is embedded with mica pearl dust, which will enhance the vibrancy and add a beautiful shine.

Keep it Candid

Documentary style is skyrocketing in popularity for wedding photography. With photographers focusing on capturing unposed, candid moments, couples have shared they are better able to focus on the emotions and events of the day. We have seen couples document their wedding by printing all the photos from their wedding and using pocket pages to organize them in an album. A popular grouping of sizes has been printing the majority of images as 4×6 photographic prints, a few special images as 6×12 or 12×12 photographic prints, and putting them in a three-ring 12×12 photo album.

Fun-sized Prints

Small, thoughtful details go a long way in personalizing your big day. Printed on thick, luxurious card stock, our mini press print sets have been a top pick for photo decor at weddings. Some of our favorite ideas include: mini prints with bridals and engagements laid out next to a centerpiece, candid pictures of the couple on a table display showing their love story, and a fun, celebratory photo included in a wedding favor candy bag. If looking for a heartfelt gift for brides, mothers, or other members of the wedding party, we love recommending our archival locket prints. Find a locket of your choice, and print a favorite memory or picture from the big day to go inside. You won’t have to guess which size you will need to print since each circle, square, oval, and heart locket photo template includes a variety of sizes.

Celebrate Your Love Story

This last idea is less of a trend, and more of a passion for us here at Persnickety Prints. Weddings celebrate the love and commitment between two people, and including small details about the couple + their love story adds even greater meaning and appreciation for everyone involved. It can be done in numerous ways: a table with childhood photo albums laid out, upright photo prints in wood blocks documenting highlights from their relationship, or standing easels with larger photos. We’ve loved the idea of couples personalizing table number cards, with “When we were __” and including childhood pictures of themselves at that age. Finding unexpected ways to include fun facts about the couple will bring a smile to guests and become a fond memory of the day.
